About Teagan Ball

I have a passion for Animation Education and I simply love teaching the subject. As an Associate Lecturer and Short Course Tutor, I strive to inspire and educate the next generation of film makers, producers, storyboard artists, animators and whatever else the animation industry is open to. I have a creative employment history including multimedia developer, freelance animator and working as a 2D character designer, illustrator and animator for children's educational content along with a continued foot-in-the-door with teaching at HE level where I have many years experience. I have a good pastoral connection with students and I strive to be inclusive of every student's needs. I aspire to become a leading example that women have a place in the animation industry (and in education also) as it is still an industry where it is primarily male-dominant. We're working on it though! I love the idea that diversity also plays an important role which I aim to delve deeper into - being ScreenSkills trained helps with my understanding of the needs in the Animation Industry! I am excited to think of my future as I am constantly on the lookout for challenges. I love computers and software and I enjoy using Photoshop, TVPaint and Adobe Animate to create the majority of my work. As of late, I aim to become ToonBoom Harmony proficient with advanced rigging techniques and research into 2D hybrid animation.so watch this space!
