About Teagan Harris

With over 12 years of experience in the Sport and Health industry, I’ve had the privilege of working across a wide range of areas—from strategic planning, capital works, and sport liaison to sport nutrition, physical activity policy, and public health promotion. My work has consistently focused on creating healthier, more inclusive communities through evidence-based initiatives and collaborative engagement. Currently, I lead the Community Development & Youth Services team as Coordinator at Mitchell Shire Council, where I oversee the delivery of key strategic projects supporting diverse groups. Including seniors, people with disabilities, multicultural communities, LGBTIQA+ communities, First Nations peoples, and young people. Our work leads change in areas of health promotion, gender equality, family violence prevention, place-making, volunteer engagement, youth leadership and public arts- all aligned with Council’s Life Stages Strategy, Health & Wellbeing Plan 2021–25, and Gender Equality Action Plan. I’m passionate about continuous learning and am always seeking opportunities to grow in areas such as public health, cultural safety, strategic planning, sport nutrition, community advocacy, and team leadership."Every great dream begins with a dreamer."
