About Teagan Risetter

Hello, thank you for stopping by my page! I would like to share a little about myself, and my work experience over the years. My name is Teagan, and I recently graduated from Iowa State University's Ivy College of Business with a bachelor's degree in Finance. I have been fortunate enough to develop a very diverse skillset throughout my life. I grew up on a farm in a small town in Iowa and had several family members on acreages/farms, so having to think critically and work intuitively was the norm during my upbringing. I learned the value of hard work, the importance of putting effort into my tasks, and I developed respect for those who work with their hands every day. During high school, I worked on these farms, power-washed local hog barns for my father, and began working at the local swimming pool as a lifeguard. It was at this public pool where I began interacting with so many people within the community and learned the importance of creating a safe environment. At the end of high school, I was honored to be voted as the commencement speaker for my graduating class in 2019. The following year I started college at Des Moines Area Community College to pursue an associate's degree in liberal arts and sciences, as I decided a career path. During my time at DMACC, I worked as a personal shopper at Hy-Vee in Ames. This is where I gained experience in retail and learned the importance of customer service. After graduating DMACC, I transferred to Iowa State University to acquire a bachelor's degree in finance. I decided on a career in finance because I learned just how important money is in every person's daily lives. It provides food, homes, services, and a sense of security to every family on the planet, and I would very much like to help people maximize their assets any way I can. During my time at Iowa State, learned all about the time value of money, Microsoft office applications, investing practices, financial markets, and financial analysis. While taking classes full-time, I worked on campus at the Iowa State Parks Library, and as a waiter at Boulder Tap House. In April of 2024, I was honored to be a nominee for Iowa State's Student Employee of the Year. I graduated May 11th 2024, and am currently seeking an entry level finance position to start my professional career. I appreciate you taking the time to read!
