About Teal Turner

Hello! I'm Teal Turner, currently a Facilities Assistant at LAIKA studios, looking to branch out into my true filed of study; writing. My writing centers around activism, mental health, biracial families, the LGBTQIA+ community, and more. In high school, I had the privilege of writing and directing my own play. I then ventured out to the Art Institute of Portland, where I studied Digital Film and Video for two years. There I learned how to write, film, direct, and edit my own short films. I took a small break, then jumped right back into school at Portland Community College. I finished with an Associate's of Science, and am now looking for more writing experience. Working for LAIKA allows me to branch out creatively, while also still thinking practically and critically. There, I’m able to flex many of the skills I’ve picked up over the years working for various companies, such as managing a coffee bar, and making drinks for the staff and crew, as well as filling any service requests put in by crew members, and managing and setting up events at the studio. In the future, I would love to gain more experience writing and directing independent features, as well as publishing books and poems.
