About Teboho Seobi

I am an ophthalmologist, with a special interest in paediatric ophthalmology and in oculoplastic and orbital surgery. Throughout my career, with God's help, I have aimed to grow in my knowledge as a clinician and to develop and thrive in my skill as a surgeon. I have pursued to develop in my managerial abilities and leadership roles. The aim being to become a well-rounded, seasoned expert who can be a mentor to those coming after me and to give an excellent service to the patients whom I serve. I have clinical and surgical experience in managing patients with glaucoma, vitreoretinal, oculoplastic, orbital, paediatric and strabismus conditions. This came as a result of my work experience in different sub-specialty units. I have worked in multiple hospitals affiliated with the University of Witwatersrand, Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital and Helen Jospeh Hospital. I am currently working in at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital that is affiliated with the University of Cape Town. I am responsible for training the fellow, registrars and medical students as they rotate through the paediatric ophthalmology aspect of their training. I give clinical and surgical training I participate in managing, stream lining the functioning of the clinics and the theatre. I participate in assisting in procuring new equipment and consumables for the clinic and theatre. As a researcher I have completed my Mmed. I have been involved in publishing research papers. I am keen on pursuing my PhD. Presented talks at congresses. The Ophthlamology Society of South Africa Congress and the African Ophthalmology Council Congress. I have participated in various committees both on a professional work level as well as on a social-initiative level. Currently I sit on the Department of Surgery Transformation Committee. I sit on the Council of the of the College of Ophthalmology which is one of the colleges of the College of Medicine of South Africa. I organized the Masterclass for registrars. I have participated as an examiner in the ophthalmology Diploma and intermediate examinations. I am the convener for the ophthalmology examinations. My personal interests apart from my work is in mentoring young people. Teaching the Word of God. I have a keen interest in photography, art, poetry, reading books. I have become an author. I am branching out into the media production space. As a person, I live to fulfill my God-given calling, is what I live to achieve, God-helping me.
