About Ted Bearman

Ted Bearman established Bear Rock Solutions Pty. Ltd.(BRS) in 2009 to provide consulting services that offer insight and solutions to the minerals industry. Since that time BRS has completed 400 projects that span technology advisory, productivity improvement and operational optimization. Some of the main focus areas have been on providing Company Board level advice on future directions, changing processing and flowsheets to better address ESG matters, production uplift via rock-to-revenue and operational support (strategic, tactical and immediate) Prior to 2009, Ted held a number of key positions with Rio Tinto including in the establishment of the Iron Ore Technology Division and undertook early studies into advanced developments to support future mine productivity. In his subsequent role as a corporate General Manager in innovation, he was exposed to a wide range of innovation models and gained first-hand experience of the functional effectiveness of the various designs and how the global mining landscape needed to change to address increased pressures. In his core technical discipline of comminution/processing, Ted has completed over 550 projects covering optimization, process development, equipment design and operational improvement. Ted is a Chartered Engineer, with an extensive network of international mining contacts. He holds both an honours degree and a PhD in engineering and is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Mining and Metals and a Fellow of the AusIMM. Ted is an Honorary Professor in Mineral Processing at the University of Nottingham.
