About Ted Davis

I graduated the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in March of 1996. I started working with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff in February of 1996 and worked there until June of 1998. I was hired by the Hoover Police Department as an officer at that time and now have over 26 years total in law enforcement. I have extensive experience in state and federal narcotics laws having worked in that area for nearly my entire police career. During my time in law enforcement I was a certified commercial vehicle inspector, narcotics and patrol dog handler, and have supervised the narcotics and interdiction units at both the Police Sergeant and Police Lieutenant ranks. I have extensive courtroom experience and have been qualified as an expert in commercial vehicle interdiction in Federal Court. I am a certified instructor with the bulk of that experience being in the area of criminal interdiction. During my time as a supervisor I have been responsible for scheduling, training, and completing performance evaluations on personnel in my command as well as conducting investigations due to complaints of employee misconduct. I have also been involved in equipment testing, evaluation, bidding and purchasing of equipment needed to perform or enhance job performance of personnel assigned to area of responsibility.
