Ted is a Chartered Engineer in the UK, and a Chartered Professional Engineer in New Zealand, with over 46 years experience in all types of structural designs, ranging from Nuclear Power Stations, Offshore Oil Rigs, HEP, Oil & Gas, through to Residential Designs and Specialist Staircases. He now provides an Internet-based design service to clients, architects and engineers alike, and has clients in New Zealand, Thailand, Germany, and the UK. He has been the Senior Structural Engineer for Spiral Staircase Systems (UK) for some 30 years, and has been published with respect to his knowledge of the intricacies of the design of specialist bespoke staircases. He recently relocated his business to Auckland, and has been joined by two (soon to be 3) younger yet extremely competent engineers and a civil/structural draughtsman, and is currently expanding further, providing low-cost, efficient & quick, complete engineering solutions (including construction monitoring) to clients in both Auckland and Christchurch, as well as across the entire North Island. Customer service and client satisfaction is key to his business, he is approachable evenings and weekends, always available to give immediate & free advice. He specialises in Terratorial Authority documentation, speeding through Building Consent Applications with maximum efficiency. He has expert knowledge of the Building Act appertaining to structural design. Currently, he is also particularly focused upon providing seismic rating %NBS for all types of buildings within New Zealand (ISA's), and also in providing more thorough and in-depth detailed seismic assessments when required.
