Background
About Ted Godo
With a wealth of experience spanning 45 years in the oil and gas industry, I am available to consult or work on short-term projects for companies exploring for conventional oil and gas. My professional journey includes significant roles at Shell Oil and Murphy Oil, which have honed my expertise in exploration (see below for more details). My core competency lies in generating and evaluating existing prospects and plays. By integrating various geologic disciplines such as geochemistry, basin modeling, rock properties/seismic response, and seismic stratigraphy, I can provide cogent models/arguments that reduce risk and upgrade the quality of prospects in the portfolio. This, in turn, leads to better judgments in ranking. I also believe in the power of collaboration, working with others in the team to share learnings and mentor. Please find below some highlights of my experience: Areas of work- Gulf of Mexico Shelf to Deepwater experience of supra and subsalt seismic mapping. I can work in all evaluation stages, from regional play opening through prospect identification and maturing to drill sites, with good site evaluation and operational experience with appraisal team membership. Examples of personal oil finding success have been oil and gas discoveries in Miocene sandstone reservoirs with amplitude support (Main Pass, Viosca Knoll, and High Island. More notably, large to giant oil fields in Jurassic age rocks (Norphlet reservoir) at Appomattox, and the other "civil war themed discoveries. Atlantic Margin - New Ventures evaluation (5 years-Murphy) African margin, especially the Irovy coast including the MSGBC area, and the Transform Margin, especially the Ivory Coast and Ghana but also Namibia and the MSGBC area. In South America, I have done extensive work in the Potiguar Basin and the Campos and Santos Subsalt basins. Specifically in Brazil, I have done pre-salt mapping and dry hole analysis (Santos-Campos), and as chief geologist at Shell, I was responsible for volume and risk assurances.(5 years). Also, British and French Guyana plays Mexico-Sureste Basin exploration - worked 5 years on developing a Mesozoic play analysis including Jurassic clastic and carbonate oolite reservoir plays and Cretaceous Breccia and fractured play. I have mapped the in subsalt for Tertiary sandstone reservoir plays to include the Mesozoic source rocks for an integrated complete play and prospect analysis East Coast Canada experience (Shell and Murphy) with prospect generation and evaluations in Jeanne d’Arc basin, Flemish Pass, Orphan Basin.
