About Ted Mathas
I had the opportunity of a lifetime to lead New York Life as CEO and Chair for fourteen years through the Global Financial Crisis of 2008-10 and the recent Global Pandemic. I retired as board chair in April of 2023 after twenty-eight years serving the employees, agents and policy owners of this iconic institution. I am now living in Virginia working on my first class as an adjunct professor at the law school, engaged part-time as a senior adviser at Stone Ridge, and enjoying the freedom of a less hectic schedule.
