About Ted Takamura
Ted has recently started with Multnomah University as the Accounting Director and Associate Professor in Accounting and Business Administration. His duties will be to build an accounting program with undergraduate, post-bac and graduate students in pursuit of certification in accounting. Graduates in accounting can sit for the CPA, CMA or CIA exams. Ted has spent the past three years working with the national board of the Institute of Management Accountants Committee on Academic Relations. On the Board, he has served as Chair for the past year and has helped to endorse colleges and universities that qualify as undergraduates to sit for the Certified Management Accountants standard examination. Some of the schools that have been endorsed included Michigan State, Penn State, BYU, Clemson, WSU-V and Eastern Oregon University. Ted taught at the MHCC campus for EOU in the College of Business and Education. He taught accounting courses that help students to qualify to sit for the CMA, CIA and the CFE standard national exams. Ted has experiences in serving on boards, budgeting, curriculum, personnel, development, and student retention. Many years were served on not for profit boards as a treasurer, finance, stewardship for more than twenty years. In the past, Ted worked for Weyerhaeuser Company as a cost accountant and manager. Ted has made several presentations to different organizations on such things as ethics, transition, change, vision and mission statements. Presentations have been at national conferences at IACBE, IMA, and Mentoring Conference. Specialties: Small business management, not for profit administration, budgets, accounting, curricular issues, serving on boards, organizational visioning, human resource management, and problem solving.
