I am an experienced Claim Professional with more than 25 years experience managing a wide variety of liability claims in jurisdictions throughout the United States. I have also managed some international losses. My experience includes: Direct Claim Handling, including losses in excess of $1 million Oversight of Third Party Administrators Conducting Claim Audits Claims Management Mediation Excess and Surplus Lines Litigation Management Development of Claim Handling Procedures Reinsurance My interests are varied and primarily include handling complex litigated claims. This includes, but is not limited to, product liability, personal injury, construction accident/contractor's liability, municipality liability, various general liability exposures, professional liability and medical malpractice cases. I also have experience managing long term exposure litigation (i.e, pharmaceuticals, exposure to chemicals, asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, etc.) and construction defect. Interests also include TPA oversight in an insurance or non-insurance corporate risk management environment. I started my career in personal lines claims; however, most of my experience is in commercial lines. Since the majority of my experience involves litigated cases, I have extensive expertise developing effective litigation strategies with defense counsel, while monitoring and containing costs, and pursuing a timely and economical resolution of claims. I have participated in numerous mediations and monitored trials as needed. I also have extensive experience identifying and managing coverage issues under various liability policies. In addition to college, I have a CPCU and an AIC designation, and am licensed in 14 states. I have attended numerous claims and legal seminars over the years and enjoy continuing my education for professional growth.
