About Tedi Halili

An Irish and EU Trade Mark Attorney with extensive experience in the field of trade marks and related Intellectual Property Rights. My experience ranges from trade mark clearance and filing to all aspects of trade mark enforcement, prosecution, portfolio management and dispute resolution. I have acted for a broad range of clients in various sectors, and I have developed excellent up to date knowledge of Irish and European trade mark legislation and jurisprudence. I have a particular interest in trade mark infringement, passing off and opposition matters, and I have successfully handled complex opposition, invalidity, and revocation actions before the Intellectual Property Office of Ireland, the EUIPO and the Boards of Appeal, as well as the Italian and Spanish IP Offices. My area of specialism includes also negotiating and drafting global co-existence and settlement agreements, advising on certification and collective trade marks and assisting clients in domain name matters with extensive expertise in UDRP proceedings before WIPO. My view of intellectual property can be effectively summarised by the words of the influential Irish author/philosopher Charles Handy: “it isn’t just patent rights or brand names; it’s the brains of the place.” I firmly believe that as IP professionals, not only do we have the opportunity to help extraordinary people in the process of transforming their ideas into actual products and services that improve the lives of millions, but most importantly, we have the very special privilege of literally creating the necessary legal conditions for the future to happen.
