Passionate Advocate for Maternal Child Health | Leadership in Non-Profits & Regional Health Authorities | Clinical Expertise in Reproductive Health With a robust background in leadership and administration within non-profit organizations and regional health authorities, I bring over a decade of dedicated clinical experience in reproductive health and justice. My journey has been fueled by a commitment to ensuring that underserved communities receive the comprehensive services they deserve. As a registered nurse specializing in maternal and child health, I have developed clinical expertise with a strong focus on advocacy for holistic reproductive services. I am a proponent of choice in birthplace options and access to midwifery care, and I have worked diligently to improve access to these vital services, and lead initiatives that drive systemic change. I have campaigned for over a decade to see the expansion and integration of midwifery care into primary care settings, resurgence of Indigenous midwifery, and access to birth centers across BC. I have advocated for policy change at the local, provincial and national level. My collaborative work with First Nations communities in the reclamation of reproductive services reflects my commitment to culturally safe care. My extensive background in allyship emphasizes my commitment to equity and ensuring that every individual receives care with dignity and respect. I have a proven track record in developing and implementing clinical services that prioritize integrated, team-based primary care services. This is done with a focus on strategic planning and organizational skills, essential for aligning diverse teams towards a common vision. Navigating complex and multi-jurisdictional funding environments during my administrative tenure provided the resource management skills necessary to achieve cohesive and impactful clinical outcomes. This work has helped me develop strong interpersonal and negotiation skills—key attributes for fostering partnerships and building trust within complex team and clinical environments. I understand the importance of fostering a positive organizational culture and driving team engagement. I am dedicated to championing the standards of care in maternal and child health and am always excited about opportunities to drive innovative, community focused strategies that support families and enhance health outcomes.
