About Tegan Peacock

I am a creative, working in the arts industry of South Africa, with a diverse range of professional exposure to South African arts, cross-culture work and collaborative arts outreach programmes. Since obtaining a BMus(Dance) degree from the University of Cape Town in 2010 I have been working as a professional in the South African dance and creative arts industry. I co-founded contemporary dance collaborative ReRouted Dance Theatre in 2014, and have been running the collaborative for the last 2 years. Our vision for this work lies in our belief of the importance of collaboration in order to cross bridges between cultures and across different fields of the arts. In this way we have aimed to grow the arts and bring about greater societal engagement and change. Through contemporary dance I participate and collaborate with other artists from many artistic fields and consider myself fortunate to have been selected as a member of residency programmes, mentored by: the Floating Outfit Project (Boyzie Cekwana and Desiré Davids), Studios Kabako (Faustin Linyekula) and Marcel Gbeffa (Benin). I am a hard working, dedicated professional who has pursued a career in the South African arts sector with passion and commitment. I am organised, detail-orientated, logical and strong on execution and quality. My resume (enclosed as requested) includes various productions and employment engagements which have helped me develop the ability to focus on several projects simultaneously and meet hard deadlines whilst balancing and fostering the creativity.
