About Teina Walters

My name is Teina - pronounced, Tay nar My life long goal has always been to not have to tell people how to pronounce my name. How I get there will be the fun part! I have grown up in the horse racing industry which is a byproduct of living in Matamata, a small town known for horse racing, Dame Catherine Tizard and Hobbiton (mainly Hobbiton). After going to the University of Waikato to study E-Commerce and Marketing I feel grateful to work in the content team for NZTR (New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing). I love creating videos, designing, interviewing and doing whatever I can to help horse racing return to its former glory. I now find myself in the grateful position of being a radio host for SEN and being able to say I have colleagues like Brendon McCallum, Israel Dagg, Ian Smith and many many more talented people! It sometimes blows me away to the point I’m thinking “how the hell did I get here”. I consider myself extremely lucky!
