About Tej Kalyan

I’ve always believed that delivery is about more than timelines and technology - it’s about clarity of purpose, trust in people, and the discipline to see things through, even when complexity threatens to overwhelm. As a Senior Program and Project Manager, I’ve led major enterprise transformations across insurance, higher education, energy, and engineering - often stepping into fast-moving, multi-vendor environments where structure was needed, but rigidity wouldn’t work. My recent work has focused on delivering large-scale, multi-stream initiatives with high regulatory impact, deep technical complexity, and a strong human-centred lens. At RAC, I’ve managed concurrent projects across compliance, customer experience, and system modernisation - introducing privacy safeguards, negotiating with vendors, and helping shape how more than a million members interact with their insurer. What guides me is simple: structure where it matters, adaptability where it counts, and a team culture where people feel safe to speak up, challenge ideas, and grow. I thrive in that balance between planning and pragmatism - whether it’s leading delivery, embedding new ways of working, or helping stakeholders navigate change with confidence. Earlier in my career, I worked across the UK and Australia in technical and consulting roles - from hands-on Documentum administration to regional leadership in support and delivery. These experiences gave me the empathy to lead from the ground up, and the perspective to influence from the top down. It's not all about business though! Outside of work, you’ll often find me exploring the world through food and culture, practising yoga and meditation, or mentoring emerging professionals on their project management journey. I’m also a qualified Reiki Master - something that’s helped shape how I lead with calm and awareness, especially in high-pressure environments. I’ve always valued giving back to the community, and since 2009, I’ve proudly volunteered with the Shree Kutchi Leva Patel Community WA - helping to organise cultural celebrations, youth initiatives, and outreach programs that support inclusion, connection, and cultural pride. During my time as General Secretary (2011–2012), I coordinated events, meetings, and member engagement activities to help create a welcoming space for all generations.
