Background
About Dr. Tejusv Goel
In a world where mental health challenges are ever-present I have dedicated my career to being a beacon of hope and a guide through the darkness. My journey began with personal experiences of mental health struggles both my own and those of friends and peers. Witnessing the devastating effects of untreated mental illness inspired me to dive deeply into psychiatry advocacy and community service. With a solid foundation built at Seth G.S. Medical College Mumbai—one of India’s top medical schools—I pursued diverse clinical experiences in the United States. From psychiatry internships in Georgia and New York to observation roles at Harvard Medical School I honed my skills in patient care diagnostics and mental health intervention. My time at these institutions reinforced my commitment to public psychiatry where I now continue my journey at Augusta University. My passion extends beyond clinical practice. As a volunteer with Samaritans in Boston and through my work with MINDLab at the MINDS Foundation I’ve engaged in suicide prevention substance use counseling and mental health research. Each experience has shaped my approach to mental health care—compassionate patient-centered and always striving to uplift others. I believe in the power of mentorship and community. Whether guiding young medical students or supporting individuals in crisis I am driven by a desire to empower others and foster resilience. My goal is to lead transformative mental health initiatives that make a tangible difference particularly in underserved communities. As I continue my fellowship in public psychiatry I am eager to learn grow and contribute to a future where mental health care is accessible equitable and compassionate for all.
