Honing her skills at an early age and garnering a love for all things makeup, created a gravitational pull that led her to New York City where she took the city by storm. Since then, Tekoa has built a beauty branding empire, working all over this beloved country spreading her talent to the far reaches of entertainment, beauty, sports, and television. Beginning from the ground up, Tekoa’s decade¬-plus experience in various fields, and her instinctual business acumen, led her to co-found, The TEKNIQUE Group, a boutique creative artist, event management, and branding firm based in New York City. She is also proficiently skilled in advertising, publicity, marketing and creative direction. With a burning desire to provide other artists a platform that took her years to create after seven years in the business, Tekoa has garnered powerhouses such as Monami Entertainment, Viacom, ABC, NBC Universal, Monster DNA, Essence, Uptown, and XXL magazines as clients. There has been a plethora of industry notables that have been enlightened by Tekoa’s talents. From actor/writer, Anthony Anderson, lawyer/author, Iyanla Vanzant, to international tennis star, Rafael Nadal, her craft reaches beyond the typical structure of any make¬up artist or beauty conglomerate. Television hasn’t been able to escape the grasp of Tekoa’s brushes. She has been the principal makeup artist with top networks such as: CNN, ESPN, STYLE, and MTV. Tekoa and TEKNIQUE also serve as the Glam Coordinator for the popular hit VH1 franchise, Love and Hip Hop.
