About Temitope Odunleye

My passion: Strengthening health systems through quality improvement, research, design and implementation of interventions to improve the quality and outcomes of healthcare, through local and international collaborations • Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Nigeria, a master’s degree in International Health Policy and Management from Brandeis University, USA, and an Associates of Applied Science degree in Health Information Technology and Management from Schoolcraft College, Michigan, USA. • Clinical experience: general physician and training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in a developing country; provided reproductive, maternal and child health services; co-managed HIV positive pregnant women and mothers with a PEPFAR center • Research experience: design of protocol and survey tools, primary data collection, qualitative and quantitative analysis, presentation and report; systematic and peer reviews. Through a teaching innovation grant, I have designed case studies to illustrate the gaps and opportunities for improvement in the health and mental health systems of Nigeria and Chile for teaching purposes in a Global Mental Health graduate program • Teaching experience: basic concepts in Epidemiology, Bio-statistics and Population health for graduate and undergraduate students • Other professional skills: monitoring and evaluation, healthcare management, quality and performance measurement, health economics, ICD10-CM and PCS, and CPT coding skills, data management • Technical skills: use of data analytic software packages and Microsoft office. • Communication skills: talented public speaker, speech writer and compere. • Others: leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills, able to work independently and in a team • I promote gender equality through advocacy for girl child education and development, and protection of female reproductive health rights to avoid the adverse reproductive health consequences of child marriage and teenage pregnancy • I am interested in connecting with individuals and organizations committed to research and policy for health systems strengthening
