Passionate Educator | Curriculum Innovator | Award-Winning Teacher With over two decades of experience in education, I have dedicated my career to fostering student success, building collaborative learning environments, and driving innovative curriculum design. My journey spans multiple school districts, where I’ve taken on leadership roles such as English Department Chairperson, Data Team Leader, and Curriculum Development Leader. As the 2024 Virginia Region 8 Teacher of the Year and Division Teacher of the Year for Brunswick County Public Schools, I’m honored to have my commitment to excellence recognized. Beyond the classroom, I contribute to statewide initiatives, serving on the Virginia Department of Education's Teacher Advisory Council, Teacher Compensation Work Group, and the Virginia Literacy Partnership Curriculum Review Team. My approach blends culturally responsive teaching with strong team-building, conflict resolution, and time management skills, ensuring students and colleagues thrive. I am deeply committed to empowering learners, addressing educational challenges, and creating inclusive spaces where all voices are valued. When I’m not teaching, I give back to the community through volunteering at The Cove Learning Center and FOCCUS Food Pantry, embodying the belief that education extends beyond the classroom.
