Shipbroker / Coordination Manager at ShoreLink Shipping As a ship agent I´m the shipping company's representative in port before and during the ship's call. As agent we handle all reporting to the Coast Guard, Customs and the Swedish Maritime Administration and coordinates the ship's arrival between the port and other parties involved. Furthermore, the work involves the administration of the ship's document management such as Bill of Lading and Manifest of the cargo. As agent you are the “spider in the web” with the goal of solving all the shipping company's / captain's requests in the most efficient way possible. Most of the work is done in English in speech and writing. Between 2021-2024, in addition to the agent part, I have also been logistics manager/coordination manager for the department. This work has involved, among other things- Preparing and presenting reports and statistics for presentations and follow-ups- Coordination with different departments to optimize loading/unloading operations in the port- Managing payments and financial transactions via the Visma financial system and some customs handling- Assist in the management and control of budgets and expenses for the department- Implement marketing and sales strategies to optimize departmental revenue- Responsibility for enforcing processes and procedures for the department.
