About Teri Embrey

With over 18 years of experience in library management, metadata creation, and historical research, I served as a passionate and skilled director of library services at the Pritzker Military Museum & Library (PMML), a nonprofit institution dedicated to the preservation and education of military history and culture. I oversaw all aspects of the library operations, from acquisition and cataloging of materials in various formats to donor relations and fundraising, to reference and research support for patrons and staff. As a historian, writer, and curator, I have contributed to the development and dissemination of knowledge in the fields of American history, public history, and genealogy, through publications, presentations, exhibits, and online platforms. I have a special interest in artificial intelligence and its impact on the cultural landscape, and I seek to leverage its potential to enhance the accessibility, discoverability, and relevance of collections and services. I believe that libraries, museums, and other educational institutions are essential elements of our democratic society and necessary for America to stay competitive in the global marketplace. As a non-profit leader, I advocate for resources to improve life-long learning, the environment, and local communities.
