It is such a feeling of achievement to see the business I founded 50 years ago continue more successfully than ever through the leadership of the women at the helm. I have to ask myself how this happened because it certainly was not a plan. There were many moments of enlightenment but three very important ones stand out: learning that as the entrepreneur it was critical to trust the thoughts of others who actually knew more about the intricacies of their day to day jobs than I did. Sharing authority rather than holding it close allowed people to flourish. Encouraging voices that disagreed with me opened my eyes. 2023 is Growing Green's 50th year and the future appears brighter than ever. Being in the position of bringing nature into people's lives is a privilege we cherish. Congratulations to all the staff over the years that brought us to this great occasion.
