About Tero Kravtsov

At the Metso Research Center, I specialize in process mineralogy, focusing on optimizing materials and processes across the mining, beneficiation, and metal refining sectors. My work involves analyzing a wide range of materials, including flotation feeds, tailings, concentrates, metallurgical residues, and environmental samples like airborne particles and asbestos. I utilize advanced tools such as reflected light microscopy, SEM-EDS, WDS, and XRD, with a particular emphasis on AZtec Mineral software for liberation analysis. These tools enable us to address complex challenges in ore processing and metallurgical optimization. In addition to my analytical work, I contribute to the ongoing development of HSC Chemistry software, enhancing its capabilities for mineral conversions and data analysis. This software is integral to our work, allowing us to maximize the insights gained from our data. Working at the Metso Research Center provides me with a comprehensive view of the mining industry, from exploration to the final products of smelting, while keeping a strong focus on environmental responsibility.
