Starting in April 2012, I began work as the Advanced Meter Infrastructure Admin for North Little Rock Electric. NLRE is converting the entire system to digital smart meters capable of two-way communication. I have spent most of my first two years on this project overseeing the deployment of the meters, as well as performing basic network hardware maintenance - ensuring proper communication between the headend servers, Tower Gateway Basestations (TGBs), and endpoints (meters)The next challenge will be maintaining optimal network communication and data delivery. In June 2016, I was named Meter Data Management Administrator. Before this latest job change, I spent 14 years in IT, first as the Assistant to the Network Administrator at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock's Ottenheimer Library, then as Information Services Specialist and eventually Senior Information Specialist for North Little Rock Electric. I took pride in caring for whatever work I am assigned to the very best of my ability. Being part of a small company, with an even smaller IT staff, I have hands-on experience in nearly every aspect of Information Technology. I have provided tech support and software training for users, set up and maintained network hardware (switches/hubs, servers, desktops/laptops), designed and coded the company's internal and public websites, wrote code for the PBX, maintained Exchange 2003/2007 servers, wrote Access databases, and pretty much whatever else was needed. My favorite projects have always been the ones that allowed me the latitude to work at my own pace and discretion. I currently hold an Associate of Science in Computer Programming from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and a wide ranging number of certificates from additional job training I have received through the years. I took up American Sign Language in 2009, and this has afforded me the honor of interacting with deaf customers on several occasions.
