About Terri Matson
Rooted in the principle of holism, Chinese Medicine places great emphasis on treating the whole person and views the body, mind, spirit and context as an integrated unit. Context includes environmental factors such as culture, community, family, social networks and history. The goal of treatment is to establish “balance and harmony” within the individual, and in relationship to their environment. Terri’s love for Oriental Medicine grew from the early macrobiotic teachings of Micho & Avaline Kushi. She operated the first macrobiotic restaurant at the San Diego East West Center, where she also taught classes for macrobiotic theory, nutrition and seasonal cooking preparation. She earned a Master in Acupuncture and Certificate in Chinese Herbal Studies from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture. Her office is located in mid-coast Maine where she enjoys being part of the diverse and vibrant community.
