About Terry Bailey

In my career as an educational administrator that spans 20 years, I have been trusted to lead within my institution and in my community. My knowledge of educational systems around the world has allowed me to grow domestic and international student enrolments and increase institutional partnerships both regionally and internationally. I have built a reputation for my ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of people through my writing, visual design skills, use of technology, compassion and diplomacy. This has been recognized through industry awards for a recruitment video, and two national gold awards for best viewbook. I am an innovative thinker who enjoys the challenge of finding the best solutions with a client-centered focus that often must be realised with few resources. While the majority of my experience has been in admissions and recruitment, I have also been responsible for overseeing an academic program for off campus study and exchange. I have extensive experience in academic advising as well as transitional career and educational advising with a focus on prior learning assessment and recognition. I have been directly involved in the initiation, review, and development of many institutional policies, and inter-institutional agreements both for articulation, cooperation, collaboration, internship and exchange. I have also played key roles in strategic visioning and planning for both NSCAD and EduNova. Having been involved in EduNova since its inception, we have built a collaborative, multi-sector co-operative association of education and training partners in Nova Scotia – the only provincial education and training co-operative in Canada. Comprised of secondary and post-secondary members, I have directly collaborated with partners for the recruitment of middle and high school students to study in Nova Scotia, both in public and private schools.
