About Terry Dreyer

For 19 years +, I have been a Civil Engineering Inspector (CEI) for the FDOT, D1, D3, D5, Turn Pike, Polk County and Osceola County. For those years I have been a part of the team that ensures the final product of construction meet or exceed all the standards set forth by the FDOT, or other controlling agencies, from the beginning of the project, throughout the construction operations, and at final acceptance of the work. Though I have experience and training in a variety of aspects of highway construction, a significant part of this position is monitoring the federal, state, and local guidelines of accessibility during a FDOT highway construction projects. The Maintenance of Traffic of the pedestrian public requirements during construction set forth by the FDOT Standard Indices and the FDOT Standards for Bridge and Highway Construction meet or exceed the ADA and ADAAG guidelines. When working with the FDOT, D1 Bartow Operations Center Permits Department, I became familiar with the State’s Plans Preparation Manual by conducting initial constructability reviews of the submitted plans, then suggesting recommendations based off those reviews for plan changes, especially concerning the upgrade of the existing accessibility facilities within the proposed work site. Along with the various certifications required to be a CEI, I also have a B.S. in Construction Management. With that education came various Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) classes, in which I learned the basics of CAD design from simple mechanical parts to using CAD technology to design a full site plan, including renderings in Photoshop, and other various programs. With that knowledge and experience I have become a Bluebeam Certified Professional.
