About Terry Hackett

As the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for BCS Financial Corporation, I lead the legal and compliance functions for this insurance holding company including corporate governance, litigation management, reinsurance contracts and corporate compliance. I am a member of the Executive Leadership Team where I provide senior leadership and help guide the Company's strategic vision. I am also the President of two operating subsidiary companies, 4 Ever Life International Limited (a Bermuda domiciled insurance carrier) and BCS Re Inc.(a Vermont domiciled captive insurance company), with profit and loss responsibilities for those entities. Prior to joining BCS, I had a 19 year career as a commercial litigator working at two different Chicago based law firms. I spent over 15 years at the law firm of Gardner, Carton & Douglas (n/k/a Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath) and then another 4 years at a law firm n/k/a Frost & Pearlman. In private practice I concentrated on complex commercial litigation including product liability defense, healthcare litigation, contract disputes, real estate and construction disputes, intellectual property disputes and insurance coverage litigation and arbitration. I obtained defense jury verdicts in some of the most plaintiff friendly jurisdictions in the United States, argued before the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Texas Court of Appeals and litigated many cases to the Illinois Appellate and Supreme Courts. I also am admitted to the bar of the United States Supreme Court.
