Having been in the staffing game for almost 25 years, I’ve been on both the corporate and the agency side and I’ve learned that “most people don’t know what they're are doing". For some unknown reason this type of work tends to attract a lot of unskilled people who only last a year or two, make a sales call, do a key word search, force an interview and then cash the placement fee before the guarantee expires. It’s becoming more and more difficult to find a dedicated individual who has made a career out of recruiting. Add to that the hundreds of millions of dollars that have been sunk into websites and programs to reduce or eliminate the need for human intervention in the recruiting process. From job boards to systems that set and coordinate the interview process and it’s even more difficult to find a recruiter who has experience. After taking over the Michigan TECHSTAFF office in 2005 my partner and I set out to establish a business that brings companies and candidates together in the most effective way for both sides while not losing the “personal touch” in the talent wars as the best companies and candidates continue to vie for each other's attention.
