About Terry Ryan

Terry Warriner Ryan, FASLA, has over 40 years of experience in the profession of landscape architecture, where she has practiced its art and science through sustainable site design. Her projects combine conceptual thinking with knowledge and attention to detail. She is a Partner of Jacobs/Ryan Associates, a landscape architecture firm with a broad base of clients and projects, located in Chicago, Illinois. Terry is licensed in about many states, including Illinois which is her current home, and her original home state of California. She was educated at the University of California Los Angeles, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Design/ Landscape Architecture in 1975. Throughout her career, Terry's work has been recognized and honored with awards. Her most recent award winning work includes the Chicago Riverwalk, the Regenstein Learning Campus at the Chicago Botanic Garden, the University of Chicago Crerar Science Quadrangle and the Sarah E. Goode STEM Academy. She has had projects published in many magazines including Landscape Architecture Magazine. Terry has also been a leader in her profession. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects (FASLA), has served as Illinois Chapter ASLA Trustee, and as member or chair of various ASLA National and Illinois Chapter Committees. She is currently the chair-elect of the ASLA Council of Fellows. Specialties: Terry has direct experience with residential, multi family, eco-restoration, education, commercial, corporate, streetscape, retail, green roofs and rooftop gardens. She has participated in many LEED projects. Terry was also a co host of "Cityscapes"(13 episodes) for HGTV, a program about urban landscape design.
