About Teryn Tate

In June 2013, I graduated with my Associate of Applied Arts in Fashion Design from the Art Institute of Seattle. While in college, I worked as an independent contractor in experiential marketing. I often worked as a Team Lead, managing a team of Brand Ambassadors during marketing events. Other times I worked as one of the Brand Ambassadors. My job duties were to help capture the attention of event attendees, create a memorable experience and provide them with knowledge and incentives that would leave them wanting more from the brand. In 2013 I was hired as an Assistant Designer for Nordstrom. I have worked in this role for the last ten years. Though this position is specific to the fashion industry, many of my responsibilities have been administrative tasks. I am efficient when using both Mac and PC computers, as well as programs such as Microsoft Suite and Teams, and Adobe Creative Suite. Communication with cross-functional partners has been essential to be successful. As has excelling in time management and meeting deadlines in a timely manner. Also, it is common for me to be juggling multiple tasks for various partners, teams and brands at the same time. I have always had passion for capturing memories in the form of pictures and videos. As social media became a thing, my interests grew. I have enjoyed exploring each new platform, learning how to use filters, video/audio editing options etc. I have experience using most every social media platform; I am most active on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. At the beginning of 2018, I started a YouTube channel that has more recently turned into a family vlog channel. I spend quite a bit of time creating and editing personal content, and I’m eager to further develop these skills. I currently use iMovie to edit my videos. Recently, I started to try my hand at Adobe Premier Pro and apps like CapCut. I enjoy making my own thumbnails using Illustrator and am working diligently to grow in this skill. Additionally, I own a small party planning and event design business called Whimsy, Winks & Wonder. It is still in the launch phase. For this business, I have created my own website and social media accounts on several different platforms, that I manage/update regularly myself. I am currently the sole employee, so I am also responsible for client communication, party rental contracts, invoicing, bookkeeping and more. It has truly been a dream come true to have had the opportunity to support so many different categories over the years. I am eager to see where this next chapter of my life takes me!
