About Tess Bryson

Having joined Birketts in September 2023 as a Trainee Solicitor, I am currently undertaking my fourth seat in the Employment Team. I assist the team with a wide range of employment issues, both contentious and non-contentious. My third seat was in the Corporate Tax Team, advising both individuals and businesses on real estate and employment tax issues, as well as assisting the team with drafting tax schedules for corporate transactions. My second seat was in the Banking and Finance Team, advising both lenders and borrowers in all aspects of general corporate lending and real estate finance transactions. In my first seat, I assisted the International Private Client Team in advising on tax residence, domicile, and cross-jurisdictional succession advice. In addition, I drafted Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorneys, Declarations of Trust and associated documents. Prior to joining Birketts, I studied English Literature (with a placement year) at the University of Newcastle. Since then, I have achieved Distinctions in the PGDL, the SQE1 and SQE2 exams. In my LLM, I elected to focus on the key practice areas of Employment, Intellectual Property, Commercial and International Trade, and Mergers and Acquisitions.
