About Tessie Nightwalker

Working at the San Diego Humane Society has been a life changing experience. Compassion fatigue is real, there is more to this work than "happy endings", and your colleagues are truly your second family. Working with animals was my childhood dream. We extend our hand to those experiencing everyday challenges with their animals. This ranges from relinquishing a pet, requesting end of life services, veterinary care, or when you just need a bit of pet food to get you through the week. I selected this position for the same reason others will not. My past experiences have been in landscaping, sales, retail, and hospitality; maintaining and beautifying grounds, helping customers get the right materials for their projects, working out a great deal for their flooring installation, or seating guests at their dining table. I am thankful for the opportunities to learn new skills and to understand working from different perspectives.I'm always creating and keeping professional relationships with past co-workers and guests, when the opportunity arises. I'm constantly on the lookout for opportunities to not just improve myself but the quality and thought behind every design and application.Design will always be my passion. Animals will always be my first love. Architecture and design that improves quality of life for both human and animal is the goal. With having a B.I.A.D, I look to pursue a M.Arch in the near future to achieve my passion.
