About Thabo Moloto

Mr. Thabo Moloto, is a Mining Engineer by trade with Government Certificate of Competency for mine managers. Amongst others, he completed an Executive Development programme with Wits Business School. Mr. Thabo Moloto is a registered Project Management Professional (PMP) with project management institute of America. Mr. Thabo Moloto acquired diverse mining experience, having worked in Coal, Diamond and Metalliferous mines of which a decade was spend in shaft sinking operations. Mr. Thabo Moloto started his career with DeBeers diamond mines as a Junior Mining Engineer. Mr. Thabo Moloto later joined Grinaker-LTA underground mining division where he progressed from a Junior Mining Engineer to Site Manager. During his term at Grinaker-LTA, he acquired a rare diverse experience in different commodity-based operations like Coal, Manganese, Gold, Platinum and Shaft sinking Operations. Mr. Moloto joined one of the reputable Shaft sinking company (Shaft Sinkers) in 2010 where he went through the ranks having been appointed as a Site manager, Contracts manager, Operations Manager and later on appointed as Operations Director. Before joining Barzani in 2018, Mr. Moloto was serving as the Managing Director of Shaft Sinkers Mining which is part of the London based UMS group of companies where he also serves as the interim Chairperson of the Board. Mr. Thabo Moloto has gained extensive operations experience in all facets of mining engineering, from Open Pit to Underground mining including Shaft Sinking. Mr. Thabo Moloto’s responsibility at Barzani is to work extensively with the Estimation and Business development unit of the company. As Executive Mining Director, Mr. Thabo Moloto is responsible for the total operations within all mining activities. Mr. Moloto is hands-on involved in the day to day managing of project key performance indicators, schedule management and monitoring, cost control and quality management. His role further extended to managing client relationships with key clients.
