About Thakur Singh

As an Advanced Process Engineer, I get to work with Tier 1 and OEM automotive (ICE, HEV and EV) customers on vehicle seating, exhaust, battery trays, and chassis components. I validate their feasibility in the stamping environment using Autoform forming analysis software. I work under the supervision of the director of the department and manage a team of two engineers. Internally, I work alongside the product engineers in providing the most appropriate solutions to our customers considering the function of the components and sound manufacturing practice. In order to develop a process plan and analyze any forming concerns, I use Autoform software. During the later stages of the project, my role is to work with the design engineers and support the tool shops. This enables me to communicate with the customer about any GD & T and forming changes. As simulation is one of my skillsets, I validate the results provided by the manufacturing vendor to meet company requirements. The extensive tool and die design experience I had in the past helped me comprehend the lack of DFMA principles. This helped me understand how they affect the design and manufacturing phases of product development. By implementing the product development process, I learned how to start with customer requirements, then engineering specifications, conceptual design, preliminary design, and finally deliver detailed designs. As part of my current role, I am familiar with the concepts of tool maintenance, package design, and materials handling prior to, during, and after tool manufacture in order to perform them effectively. Also, I have developed program management skills that I use to manage the workload in the Process Engineering department. As far as software skills are concerned, I'm very proficient at designing tools and surfacing in NX 11/1980. I used VISI to compensate for spring back surfaces during die development. In the past, I have used Solidworks and AutoCAD software. I am a certified / expert user of Autoform 7.0/8.0 and 10.0. Over the past 4 years, I have developed my ability to manage projects, maintain documents, and build strong relationships with my customers. I can work alone or in a team environment. Strong communication, interpersonal, and engineering mathematical skills, as well as an ability to grasp novel concepts quickly allow me to utilize my skillset in a highly productive manner.
