About Thalia Eitel-Porter

I am a Princeton undergraduate pursuing a physics degree, but enjoying the interdisciplinary aspect of combining humanities and science courses. I am actively involved in student venture capital and sustainability projects. I became interested in entrepreneurship and venture capital at an early age when my school offered the opportunity to participate in a summer business plan project, where I developed a concept for an eco-friendly canapé company. At Princeton I am working as an Investment Associate for Prospect Student Ventures: a venture capital and entrepreneurship support group founded by students to foster entrepreneurship on campus. Meeting with founders, creating a business proposal from their ideas to bring to the investment committee, and helping them through the funding process is one of my favourite aspects of being a part of PSV. I am also currently working on a project with two other team members to compile resources for student entrepreneurs on campus to fill a gap for support. Another key interest of mine is sustainability and green energy. In my final year of school, I helped write a scientific paper on offshore wind farms on the Eastern coast of Scotland partnering with the engineering firm ARUP, a UK-based design engineering company. I researched how the pylons should be distributed and found the varying theories for wind maximisation fascinating. My interest in sustainability broadly has also been kindled by my passion for wildlife photography: for example, I interned at a game reserve in South Africa which offered amazing opportunities to come close to nature.
