About Thandi Mfenqa

I am a qualified professional Chemical Engineer with a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Chemical Engineering. I also attended two short courses in business management between December 2005 and November 2007. I have more than 10 years’ experience in an environmental consultancy where I was exposed to environmental management and monitoring programmes and extensive project management. Projects extended from basic monitoring programmes with short term objectives to more vast programmes where project management skills ensured project success. Work on different projects also extended beyond the borders of South Africa into African countries like Botswana and Mozambique where quick action and negotiating skills were a prerequisite for project success. In April 2004, my focus changed somewhat when I was promoted to manage a company that had been acquired by the environmental consultancy. The general manager position involved management of all company operations including staff and administration. I have led the company to the development of an ISO management system for the company which was accredited. Specialities: Dust fallout, passive, ambient air quality monitoring and emission inventory, Source emission testing and quality systems.
