About Thando Oliphant

With over 8 years of work experience in the field of remote sensing, I am passionate about using satellite images to create value-added products that solve real-world problems and support decision-making. I have a Master of Science in Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing, and I am a SACNASP registered Professional natural scientist in Geospatial science. As a remote sensing technologist at the South African National Space Agency (SANSA), I investigate and employ newly developed image processing techniques, produce value-added products, project management, support and demonstrate the use of data and value-added products to clients. I also contribute to human capital development, and technological innovation. Some of the skills that I use and develop in this role include data processing and analysis, training, and stakeholder liaison. I enjoy the challenge and variety of my work, and I am always eager to learn new skills and collaborate with others.
