About Thayne Carroll

I am an Instructor of Welding at the Collegeof Eastern Idaho, I teach welding theory and welding with the following precesses: SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW. I also am an AWS CWI. My background is in welding engineering, welding, fabrication, and industrial cunstruction as I have been working in these industries for the last 11 years. Welding has become one of my passions and I am interested in everything that has to do with it, from its uses in manufacturing, to automation in welding, and welding code work (including D1.1, ASME Section IX, and ASME Section I have even recently began to involve myself more into the AWS D1.1 code committees and hope to begin to make a difference there. I am always interested in learning about new and different technologies, especially their applicability for what we do here at Richard's Sheet Metal. Welding and manufacturing are critical features in transportation, energy production, public works, and many other sectors of the economy that allow us to have a much higher quality of life than in the past. I am proud to be involved in such a critical part of our everyday lives.
