About Thea Dancer

I’m a conservationist and engagement specialist with a passion for protecting nature and empowering communities. With hands-on experience across UK reserves, tropical ecosystems, and flood-prone urban areas, I work at the intersection of environmental science, public engagement, and practical land management. Currently, I lead community engagement for Project Groundwater at Groundwork South—supporting vulnerable communities through education, co-creation, and grassroots resilience planning. My background spans field research in the Peruvian Amazon, reserve management with the RSPB and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, and habitat restoration projects including species reintroductions and site work. My approach is collaborative, inclusive, and rooted in evidence-based practice. I'm Lantra-certified in brushcutting, trained in livestock handling, and experienced in biodiversity surveying, stakeholder engagement, and volunteer leadership. I also have a degree in forensic science, bringing analytical rigour and problem-solving to my conservation work. Let’s connect if you work in sustainability, land management, or community-driven conservation.
