About Theo West

My career in finance has taken me from boutique private equity via large infrastructure fund management with AMP Capital through to leading director roles in the service side of the finance sector based both in London and Sydney. Financial modelling, both for transaction events / valuations, but also in ongoing operational modelling took a central role in each of my early positions and in due course became both a passion and an area of expertise which I continue to refine to this day. In early 2014 I took advantage of over 10 years of personal experience and decades of accumulated knowledge from some of the brightest minds in the modelling space to set up Lentran Modelling Solutions (LMS). LMS aims essentially, as all good financial modelling should, to provide clarity of thought via low-risk best practice modelling solutions. I have personally trained financial modelling to some of the largest corporations and institutions worldwide (e.g. US Government, PWC, EDF, Islamic Development Bank to name a few) and built financial models for a very broad range of asset classes, from football clubs, to train parts manufacturers and onto large regulated utilities and a range of projects from the UK via Eastern Europe to Northern Africa. In this varied scope, infrastructure, mining and renewable energy based project finance assets have represented my greatest work load and frontier or ‘new ground’ projects in challenging geographies my greatest interest. More generally, I am a published writer in a number of forms, including for the Infrastructure Journal. I have provided university lectures and seminars to accountancy institutes on best practice financial modelling and have created a raft of financial modelling courses for the Corality Financial Group which have now been attended by hundreds of delegates worldwide.
