About Theodore Hui

I have recently taken an interest in Genetic Counselling and have begun expanding my skill set from wet lab research and into health care, specifically in the Hereditary Cancer Program at BC Cancer. I currently work as a Genetic Counselling Assistant, where we aim to support patients who might currently have or be predisposed to having higher risks to cancers. My current wet lab experience includes working as a part-time Research Tech at STEMCELL contributing to the RND and maintenance of experiments in the PSC department. Previously, I worked as a Research Student in the Gorski Lab at the BC Cancer Research Centre under the supervision of Sharon Gorski, where I had also completed my Undergraduate Thesis Research in exploring the crosstalk between nucleotide metabolism and autophagy in breast cancer cells. Furthermore, I completed my NSERC research in the Hawkins Lab at SFU where I explored the molecular genetics of asymmetric cell division in C. elegans.
