Background
About Theodore Sie Scott
Serving twenty-three years (23) progressively, working with several International Humanitarian Organizations in Liberia, Ivory Coast, Haiti, and Sierra Leone in the WASH sector where I have explored my skills and gained vast knowledge to become robust in technical and quality service delivery, project cycle management, emergency response and proposal/financial development and monitoring. West Africa 2014: Responding to the largest epidemic ever, I was at the forefront of the design and construction of Ebola Treatment Centers, upgrade of community care center to an Ebola Treatment center (ETC) and setting up of Screening and Referral Units- providing a large WASH in Health facilities technical guide and design. With tried and tested knowledge on Infection Prevention and control, I was instrumental in developing procedures and protocols for the Non-clinical Management of Ebola. As a part of the post Ebola recovery in Sierra Leone, I coordinated and supervised the rehabilitation of over twenty (20) health facilities with specific emphasis on WASH in health facilities. Over the years, I have led multi-skilled teams in assessments to make informed project decisions, working and mobilizing communities and governments for participatory programming. This has allowed me to showcase and develop skills in diplomacy, tact and negotiation for operation space. As the WASH in health facilities specialist, I supported the IMC DR Congo team in setting up the WASH section of the current Ebola response, supervised the construction of the Makeke ETC and the upgrading of the Magina ETC as well as the construction of more than 20 screening and referral units in Beni, Butembo, Masereka and Mabalako health zones. I also supported the IMC emergency response in Mozambique as a result of the Cyclones Ida and Kenneth. During this period I supervised the rehabilitation of WASH infrastructures in the health facilities and provided healthcare waste management and IPC trainings to healthcare works in three health facilities in the Sofala province. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, workable written and verbal communication skills in French. I am able to effectively feedback on project/program issues, security and coordination with other agencies and government structures. In addition to assisting my line managers in proposal writing and reporting skills, I have been able to articulate the positions of the organizations I worked for at coordination forums.
