About Theresaa. Davies

Director, M.S. in Oral Health Sciences Program (BU Graduate Medical Sciences in collaboration with Goldman School of Dental Medicine)Clinical Associate Professor of Medical Sciences & EducationDr. Davies began her tenure at the School of Medicine in the Department of Biochemistry over 30 years ago. After receiving her PhD, she was very active in the Department and went on to do research in the field of Alzheimer’s disease investigating the role of platelets and the blood brain barrier in amyloid deposition. More recently she has served as Assistant Director of the MA in Medical Sciences program, and now Director of the Oral Health Sciences program; both credential enhancing programs for admissions to medical and dental school, respectively.She developed a Evidence Based Medicine Mobile App in collaboration with the Family Medicine Department and the Alumni Medical Library.(A. She teaches Biochemistry, Biomedical Information, and recently developed courses in Evidence Based Dentistry and is the Disability and Access Services Liaison for all students in Graduate Medical Sciences, strongly advocating for equal educational opportunities for all.She is a current member of the Academic Education Resources Committee, the Graduate School Diversity Steering Committee, various Student Affairs committees, as well as a past member of the Medica School Admissions, Faculty Council and the Responsible Conduct in Research Education Advisory Board Committees.She spearheaded the launch of Community Catalyst Center, a student center aimed at fostering holistic success for the diverse GMS student community by helping students acclimate to Boston and the Medical Campus and adjust to the advancing academics of graduate school while gaining a sense of belonging. C3 develops community among peers across GMS programs by providing resources, events, and workshops, and affinity groups that support and help students thrive.
