About Thiago Massa

I have over a decade of experience in software development, wearing different hats (IC, lead). My superpowers are my inventiveness, ability to fill in gaps needed in a team, and develop well-thought strategies or solutions for any business problem. My lifelong passion has been developing & mentoring people; seeing somebody learning something new or achieving something big makes my brain spark! Throughout my career, I've worked with many stacks in different contexts (Backend / Frontend / Data), but the one I'm most skilled in is Ruby, Rails, and its ecosystem. The technology that excites me lately is statically typed languages/static typing, distributed systems, and how to leverage AI in my daily work to be more productive. I have sporadically maintained a few open-source projects (Carrierwave & Minimagick Ruby gems) and enjoy helping others get started with Open Source, also have spoken in a few conferences and also enjoy attending or giving talks in Meetups groups. For years, I've been working diligently on improving my writing skills. It is an excellent asset in a world where work increasingly happens asynchronously, and I seek opportunities to make good use of it.
