About Thierry Debled

Thierry DEBLED is patent attorney and heads LLR Belgian branch. He is also a partner of PECHER & PARTNERS. After having successfully worked for more than 26 years with large industrial companies (Glaverbel, UCB.), he has decided to take a new challenge and change the orientation of his career to allow others to benefit from his large experience. Beside "usual" business (patent drafting, prosecuting, opposing, etc.), he is active in counseling clients in terms of strategy (from the innovation stage up to enforcement or valuation). He is also coaching young/junior IP professionals. He studied Chemistry at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and then worked as patent counsel for various companies before joining Vesuvius where he founded and managed for 18 years the International branch of the Intellectual Property Corporate Department. On top of these activities, Thierry is extremely active in teaching patent law; he lectures patent law in several European Universities (Strasbourg, Bruxelles, Skopje, Louvain-la-Neuve). Since December 2012, he is adjunct professor at the University of Strasbourg. Since October 2021 he is also the president of the Belgian Institute of patent attorneys.
