About Thierry Renard

Thierry RENARD was appointed Head of Engineering Flight Physics Capability in October 2014. Thierry is member of the LeadershipTeam of Flight Physics Capability & Strategy, dealing with Simulation Means. Previously, he served as Senior Manager in Airbus Flight Test Centre as Head of Aircraft Physics & Operations Department, responsible for Airbus Flight Physics, Handling Qualities, Acoustics and Electro-Magnetism flight test analysis from development up to Certification as well as flight operations support to event investigations. Prior to this position, Thierry was highly involved in Airbus Engineering Aerodynamics as mainly Aerodynamics Team Leader but also as Programme/Project Leader for Long Range and Single Aisle Airbus Aircraft families. Thierry Renard started his career as Unsteady Aerodynamics Engineer dealing with Static & Dynamic Aeroelastics phenomena such as flutter, wing twist, buffeting & dynamics loads. Currently, Thierry is member of “Passeport Avenir” social association supported by Airbus as coach of young student to prepare their application to Engineer high schools. His passion for the Sailing world involved him into ORACLE TEAM USA/AIRBUS Partnership as Project Leader for Aerodynamic Testing for the 35th America’s Cup. Thierry graduated from ISAE-ENSMA Aeronautical School of Engineers, specialized in Mechanics & Aeronautics (1988) and from Toulouse School of Management (IAE-Toulouse) with a Master in Management (1993).
