About Thilisha Govender

I am a qualified chartered accountant with post qualification experience in the retail and financial services industries. I enjoy technical accounting and have excellent knowledge of IFRS 9,15, 16 and 17 just to name a few. I am currently working in the insurance industry and I have extensive knowledge and experience in IFRS 17 implementation in a listed and private insurer environment.My role capitalizes on my in-depth understanding of financial controlling and technical accounting amongst other things. The team i work with leverages my expertise to enhance financial accuracy and drive efficiency within the business.Some of the skills and experience I have obtained in IFRS 17 implementation (the list isn't exhaustive):* technical report writing on IFRS 17 accounting policy choices*IFRS 17 financial statement presentation and disclosures* GL integration and building a new GL to accommodate IFRS 17*Completion of SAM returns to the PA*Budgets and forecasts under IFRS 17.I thrive in technical accounting and I am always up for a challenge.I also have exposure to BEE reporting and ESG reporting.I am a well rounded individual and I have the ability to create unique solutions to solve problems in the business. I am passionate about being a CA and believe that my role extends beyond finance so i always strive to be innovative and creative.
